Basketball

satisfied.

What makes me so into coaching is because till today after 2 years, people still remember i was once a coach in a primary school, without a actual coaching cert and a young dude trying his success. But what makes me happy in coaching is when you recieve praise from all sorts of people and seeing your players performing in the court. Your own team craved by your own. You win some you lose some.

But even till now, my players still remember me as a coach and telling me they are getting into the school team and playing their next game at where and when. This feeling is so good and trust me, money cant buy such feelings. After the long torture of training from me in the past, they seems to remember the good times only and still perfroming now. I wish them all the best in their game and hopefully if i have the energy and time, i will visit their match.

so what sort of satisfaction do you get actually:
  1. starting from the first day, people address you as Coach.
  2. teach the students the skills they have never even heard before and gradually see them improve when day pass
  3. they told you your training is fun!
  4. their attendance is more stable and they start pulling friends to join
  5. we can even have tea or coffee outside the school, just like friends and they no longer scare of me, but respect.
  6. players telling you that they have never won a game before and it was their first time winning games
  7. win big teams like always national team Pei chun and know them out of south zone
  8. older coaches acknowledge your success and ask you keep it up
  9. more digits in your bank account
  10. Having a team that never won a game in south zone before entering national once i am in charge
  11. tournament ended, players invite you back to the school to join their school events
  12. no longer a coach there, but players told me the new coach isnt doing a job
  13. New coach doesnt even win a game in the south zone tournament in the new season
  14. Players telling you they are entering the school team and playing this week at various venue and timing

This feeling can never be compare with anything. All efforts pays off. Big time. No regrets.

Back in Singapore

tired and happy? Perhaps.

Back in Singapore after the 4 days Macau trip going all around small island visiting one casino after another. From MGM Grand to Wlynn to Holiday INN to Venetien to Star World to Grand Lisboa and many other small casinos. It is more then just an eye opener which shows how competitive the market is in Macau. Each casino got mini bus to fetch customers to their casino and everything seems easy for you to place your bets.

However experiencing the grand casino from asia to european to america style, it all boils down to one same feeling. The feeling of the banker taking away your 13.5 grams 100 HKD chips but on the same time wanting to continue to win more. The super-duper mix emotions play around all night long. Thinking what is the next card might be is more stressful then drawing money from the ATM. The worried no income boy whom only got that thousand to win some pocket money back to singapore. But overall it is fun. Everyone should try it out someday.

Ah Jack told me it is a good time for holiday. A time to reflect on your life. Looks like i had a wasted trip because i didnt think much at all. in fact is nothing to think about because i know what i want. I Think.

It gets harder every day, but I can’t seem to shake the pain. I’m trying to find the words to say, please sayIt’s written all over my face, I can’t Function the same when you’re not here. I’m calling your name and no one’s there.

And I hope one day you’ll see nobody has it easy, I still can’t believe you found somebody new. But I wish you the best, I guess.

I'm just an ordinary man.

It all came back -- Homecoming

mixed feelings.

Fate brought us together years ago at a very unpredictable venue - KH house shuffling the tiles. soon it brought us apart to even as far as Thailand for i know. But yesterday, it brought us back together again, for only just 4 hours, and all the feelings and thoughts came back at once, just at my fingertips. Again, fate brings away everything along back to reality.

She is still the one i know when we first met. she is still as pretty as she is. people question about me and her, i would answered is all in the past. Only now i realise, it is all in the past when i am not with her. it all returned again when i saw her again. seems like i am having a hard time getting over her. i wonder this is becoming a fact.

it didnt surprise me to see her there but i was told i am fortunate because she no longer a frequent patron. indeed i felt happy once i saw her. we didnt talk as much as we use to. the greeney eyes of mine were well spotted by her when others approach. i rather choose to walk away. it is too difficult to smile again in front of the crowd. but soon, it resume what i wanted it all.

this is the same old ah boy and ah girl story. it was said that it will never to be changed. No one can prove words till actions are done. i choose to believe your current will be your future by living every relationship to the fullest. That's you. Chapter close, just any other story books.

I wish her happy always.. really.. and someone told me she will definately be happy always with my blessing. i hope so. i wish. bliss.

Life.

moody..

Today is damn moody day. Even though things isnt as rough as it seems, but somedays are simply turn off. Suddenly, it relates me to think what is life all about. i find it rather interesting and see which of the following you have encountered before or heard before. see if you agree with me. all of the below scenerios are me myself experience it or heard from friends.

Basically life is playing around with...

1. taking advantage of others and vice versa

True huh? how many of you have been taking advantage of others and the next day someone will jolly take advantage of you? It happened in daily life but many of times, we are even happy to be taken advantage of. example is a coach is uitilising all his rights to ask his players to do things for him or whatsoever. many bball players will be more then happy ya? How many of your friends are close to you because they need you and not at other times when they do not need you? God damn many isnt it? today i heard from some coaches say that my coach often dump his PEOPLE aside when he is of no value to him or he doesnt need him anymore. I couldnt agree more. i am wondering if he has any idea that he is dealing with people? Chinese have a proverbs saying: 百年修来同船度 千年修来共枕棉. Go figure it out what it means.

That's life.

2. unexpected coming

Always expect the unexpected. Nice to say, easy to quote, difficult to proceed. How to expect the unexpected? even though we use to anticipate what is happening next, how many of times it will turn out to be? People always say if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Even with sufficient planning, things might turn out shitty due to unexpected coming. Who can you blame but yourself?

That's life isnt it?

Aiya write until here i boring already. because too moody to continue. Maybe next time when i am in a better mood, i will write more colourful things. meanwhile some great songs to intro!!

  1. turnin me on - Keri hilson
  2. breath slow - Alesha Dixon
  3. Get back - Demi
  4. Let it rock - Kevin Rudolf feat. Lil' Wayne 2

Aiya many more.. Lazy to put. just mail me if you want any..

P.S. Peace of mind doesn't come from having less problems - it comes from being less critical!

Identity diffusion

touched.

Slow life. this is what i am experiencing now after my exams. The nothing to do life attitude really makes me think whether such a life is good for health. No worries since exams are past. Everyday focus on my coaching course and go around Singapore watching inter-school tournaments and meet up friends to play mahjong, catch the latest movie in town are my daily plans.

the very nice Doris make everyone a card and i am the Mahjong king! Glad to be named that way but i thought i suppose to be the president of the mj club? haha. but indeed i am touched by her effort to write the letter even though some England of mine couldn't make it. haha. her last statement is a meaningful one, check this out:

P.S the girl of your life will come someday so wait PATIENTLY OK!

My reply is OK! becoz not much other choice ma. haha. so would you rather i sit back and WAIT PATIENTLY or be a little pro active to find one myself?? She saw edwin the other day and fell in love with him. OH wait, i twist the words. haha. further contents please find it out from me.

there are certain things in life cant change.
  1. Your family members

for this, god damn please believe me. No matter how much you hate your parents or siblings, this fact that they are your family members will not change forever. you will carry the surname of your dad for life. So please forgive them otherwise when you really want to do so, you might no longer have the chance, it will be sad. No parents will harm their kids. it always take more courage to forgive someone then to hurt them, especially your kins.
  2. Your blood group
ahh, bullshit. If you are a o blooded human, you will be one forever.
  3. Time
Time will be return back to what you missed out. Only movies like Click will illustrate the wonders to turning back time. Therefore do things that you wont regret in the future. Trust your instincts.

ok other then this 3 thingy, the rest all can change so please move along with time and make changes necessary to improve yourself. Be it cut your hair, trying to be daring by asking someone out or even say something in the person face, it will change your life drastically. Whether the change lead to a good or bad experience, it doesnt matter anyway becoz even though it's bad, you learnt.

Close the door on the past.

The past is only alive if you keep it alive. You cant change yesterday but you can build today for tomorrow. Dont shackle yourself with regrets. Dont start feeling sorry for yourself. Whatever your previous circumstances, others have gotten through the same or worse. Appreciate yourself as a tested survivor: strong and determined. Learn from the past but dont assume that your past automatically equals your future.

Instead, fill your life with anticipation. Set your goals. Write your to-dos. Just because you havent done something before doesnt mean that you cant start doing it right now. Be the new, dynamic you.

Right now.

The above statement are meant for my friends whom i know that are facing crisis.
Hope you have a chance to read it..

Comparisons

Glad.

Choose your comparisons wisely
Many of our feelings of satisfaction or dissatisfaction have their roots in how we compare ourselves to others. When we compare ourselves to those who have more, we feel bad. When we compare ourselves to those who have less, we feel grateful. Even though the truth is we have exactly the same life either way, our feelings about life can vary tremendously based on who we compare ourselves with. Compare yourself with those examples that are meaningful but that make you feel comfortable with who you are and what you have.
Joe is the oldest of 6 brothers. The brothers range in age from 21 - 42. His family never had a lot of money, and the older brothers especically grew up in modest circumstances. When they finished high school, Joe and the two older bothers went to work. When the three younger bothers finished high school, however, they went to college. The older brothers feel like they missed out. Since financial aid wasn't as plentiful, they really didn't have a chance to get more education.
If they compare themselves to their younger brothers, Joe and the older brothers may feel disappointment and jealousy. They may ask, Why did they get the opportunities i did not? But if they compare themselves to many of their friends - men their age, men who had similar opportunities - the brothers see that they have more than most of their friends in terms of job satisfaction and a fulfilling family life.
Of course, Joe would gain no advantage by depriving his younger siblings of their opportunities. But he still feels bad when he compares himself to them. The answer, then, is not to make that comparison. The younger brothers grew up two decades later, in a different world and in many respects in a different family. Instead of disappointing themselves by making this comparison, Joe and the older brothers can feel good about both their younger brothers and themselves when they make a more realistic comparison to those who faced the same challenges as they did.
A large group of students was given a word puzzle to solve. Researchers compared the satisfaction of students who finished the puzzle quickly or more slowly. Students who finished the puzzle quickly and compared themselves with the very fastest students came away feeling dissatisfied with themselves. Students who finished the puzzle more slowly but compared themselves with the slowest students came away feeling quite satisfied with themselves and tended yo ignore the presence of the quick- finishing students.

You dont have to win everytime

Ultracompetitive people, who always need to win, end up enjoying things less. If they lose they are very disappointed, and if they win it's what they expected would happen anyway.

Richard was running for reelection as president in 1972. He directed his campaign staff to take all avaliable measures to win as many votes as possible. Most famous, of course, were the break-ins they staged at Democratic Party headquaters in the Watergate building in order to plant bugging devices. But staff workers also engaged in an endless series of what Richard himself labeled 'dirty tricks.' They would call up pizza par;ors and order a hundred pizzas to be delivered to the office of an opposition candidate. They would hand out phony fliers telling people that an opponent's rally had been canceled. They would call meeting halls and cancel reservations opponents had made for events. Why did they do these things? Richard was obsessed with winning - at all cost.

The great irony was that Richard was winning anyway and didnt need any of these tricks. But his inability to deal with the possibility of losing caused him to pursue these extreme methods and ultimately cost him the prize that he had so desperately pursued.

Competitiveness can preclude life satisfaction because no accomplishment can prove sufficient, and failures are particularly devastating. Ultracompetitive people rate their success with lower marks than some people rate their failures.
